#StayAtHomeChallenge

CHALLENGE:

In March 2020, when COVID-19 first burst onto the scene, out of everyone that was negatively affected, it also created unseen isolation for our parents and young players. All leagues and matches were postponed indefinitely and players were left without the option of even training with their teammates, let alone hanging out after practice.

STRATEGY:

In order to retain the membership of the club as well as consistently engage our players, the soccer cub partnered with Techne Futbol, a soccer training app that allowed us to create training programs for our players, as well as track their performance throughout the week.

Leaning into the universally relatable #StayAtHomeChallenge, we were able to promote our weekly training programs amongst our #DeMathaSoccer audience and provide both a welcome and competitive distraction for our players and families during this time.

RESULTS:
Achieved a 200% bump in profile awareness and a 300% increase in social engagement during our collaboration with Techne Futbol (March-May 2020).

Contributed to an overall 85% retention rate of both players and coaches in 2020.

One of the most touching parts about this project was that along with many other unfortunate workers during the pandemic, most of our staff was furloughed. It was amazing to be a part of a team that never hesitated and continued to volunteer their time and energy towards each of the club’s families.
