At home: PSG boss fined in Egypt

Nasser Al-Khelaifi, in his capacity as President of BeIN Sports, has been fined €18 million for violating a competition act in the North African country. Reports suggest that the PSG chairman and CEO’s BeIN sports was found guilty of forcing subscribers to replace a domestic satellite operator, Nilesat with a Qatari one to continue enjoying their viewing.

The Qatari businessman has had to deal with a lot recently, as PSG works to stay afloat of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations which came under scrutiny when they acquired Neymar’s services from Barcelona for a transfer record fee of (USD) $263 million. He is also a subject of the FIFA corruption investigation regarding the 2026 and 2030 world cup television rights.
